General Performance Improvement and Trauma Triage Committee

The WVEMS General Performance Improvement and Trauma Triage Committee is charged with collecting EMS system data to evaluate system effectiveness and identify trends to provide constructive feedback in a systematic process of continuing quality improvement. The Committee also recommends improvements in the Regional EMS delivery system necessary to meet or exceed regional, state, and national EMS performance thresholds.  The Committee participates collaboratively with other Regional EMS Councils, the Virginia Department of Health Office of EMS, and the State EMS Advisory Board’s continuous quality improvement initiatives. They also oversee the WVEMS Council Medical Incident Review process. The Performance Improvement Committee consists of representatives from throughout the region’s EMS delivery system, including Operational Medical Directors, EMS providers, and hospital emergency departments, and clinical specialties.
